Mercy Cherop Nyamasia, 27, the woman the Star reported missing on October 10, 2023, is dead.

The police and her father David Kipkoech told the Star on Thursday night that Nyamasia died after sustaining severe internal injuries from an accident along the Outering Road on September 22, 2023.

Her father, Kipkoech, had reported her disappearance at the Villa Embakasi Police Station.

Reports from Villa Embakasi Police Station revealed that postmortem results confirmed that she died from severe internal injuries sustained from an accident along the Outer Ring Road on September 22, 2023.

In our earlier story, Kipkoech indicated she spoke to his daughter on September 21, 2023m and only learned that she was missing on October 1.

“Those are the sad news we have received from the police today. We have nothing more to say. We are mourning her death,” Kipkoech told the Star.

The police said they received the report of the missing person long after the said person had died in a road accident.

Nyamasia, according to her father, owned a beauty shop in the Pipeline area in the east of Nairobi, and most probably, she sustained the injuries as she travelled to her house on that fateful day.

The family said their daughter’s body will be moved to Lomaiwe-Mochongoi in Baringo South later for burial.
