On the radar: Ruto to preside over pass-out parade of NYS recruits

President William Ruto will today preside over the 87th pass-out parade of 10,000 NYS recruits at Gilgil, Nakuru.

The new cohort which underwent a six-month training at the paramilitary academy was recruited in May this year.

Public Service and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria disclosed recently that during the ceremony various Memorandums of Understanding with several government institutions that have committed to enlist the NYS services will be signed.

The institutions are drawn from the water, irrigation, and housing sectors.

Others are Huduma Kenya, the Council of Governors, the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), and the Ministry of Labour.

Ad hoc cabinet committee on disaster response

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will today chair an Ad hoc Cabinet committee on disaster response.

The meeting will be held at the DP's residence in Karen.

Obado murder case

Trial Judge Cecilia Githua will be mentioning the murder trial of former Migori Governor Okoth Obado and two others.

The purpose of the mention will be for advocates to take new hearing dates after the prosecution on Wednesday sought an adjournment.

The matter had been scheduled to proceed the whole week but the prosecutor was unable to avail the remaining witnesses in the case.

EALA games

The East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) games kick off today in Kigali, Rwanda.

The annual games bring together members of the legislative arms from the seven member countries of the EAC blog.

Kenya MPs who on Thursday adjourned for a two-month recess are part of those participating in the games which ends December 18.
