Former Amukura West Ward Member of County Assembly Abiud Ochilang'ole has passed away.

His death was announced by the party on Monday night.

Ochilang’ole died after a short illness, the party said in a statement.

He served as the Amukura West Ward representative for two terms from 2013 to 2022.

"Hon. Abiud Ochilang’ole the immediate former MCA for Amukura-Ward in Teso South Constituency 2013-2017 and 2018- 2022 on our party ticket passed on today after a short illness," ODM said on X.

"We commiserate with his family, friends, relatives & the entire ODM family in Busia County for the loss."

His death came hours after the party also announced the demise of Gem ODM Youth League chairman Aggrey Okoth Ombee.

According to the party, Ombee also died after a short illness.

The party described the Gem Youth League chairperson as a hardworking and dedicated youth.

It added that he at all times stood for the rights of the youth he represented.

"We are saddened to learn of the death of Aggrey Okoth Ombee after a short illness. Until his death, Ombee was Chairman of the Gem Branch of the ODM Youth Leagu," ODM said on X.

"We have lost a hardworking and dedicated youth who stood for the rights of the youth."
