Four suspects arrested as police recover 15kgs of bhang

Police on Wednesday arrested four suspects who were found with 15 kilograms of bhang.

The Anti-Narcotic Unit supported by the Operations team said it acted on intelligence reports regarding persons involved in narcotic trafficking and raided the residence of one of the suspects within Kamulu area along Kangundo Road.

Police said upon searching the suspect's two houses, they managed to recover dry plant materials suspected to be Cannabis sativa, popularly known as bhang.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said in a statement that the key suspect was working with three accomplices.

The three who are alleged to be Burundi nationals had no identification documents.

They were arrested and escorted to Kasarani Police Station where they were placed in custody pending further police action and arraignment.

Police said the exhibit has been secured and will be used in court as evidence.
