Why Eastlands areas, Ridgeways will miss water for 24 hours

Affected customers have been urged to use their stored water sparingly.

Several estates along Thika Superhighway and Outer Ring Road will go for 24 hours without water.

In a notice on Monday, Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company announced that the interruption will facilitate the relocation of the water pipeline in conflict with the office construction site in the United Nations offices at Gigiri.

"We would like to inform our esteemed customers that there will be a shutdown of the water pipeline from Gigiri Reservoir to Karura Reservoir- Outer ring road," the notice reads.

The water interruption will start on  Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 6 am to Thursday 6 am.

Areas affected by the water supply interruption include UN Complex, Ridgeways, Muthaiga North, Baloi, Garden Estate, and Windsor.

Other affected estates are Mathare North, Garden City, GSU headquarters, East Africa Breweries(EABL), Ngumba, and Babadogo.

Also, estates along Outering Road that will be affected include; Huruma, Umoja One, Dandora area One, Donholm, Tassia, Fedha, Nyayo, Embakasi, Kware areas and parts of Pipeline.

Nairobi Water has urged affected customers to use their stored water sparingly during the period of interruption.

"Any inconvenience is highly regretted," reads the notice further.
