How President Ruto will spend his day in Bomet

The President will commission Chemamul village transformer maximization project.

President William Ruto on Saturday will tour Bomet county to inspect and launch various projects.

The Presdient arrived in Bomet at around 10 am where he proceeded  to launch Kyogong- Kapkesosio- Sigor- Longisa Road in Chepalungu sub county.

Later he will commission Chemamul village transformer maximization project.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said that the projects are all aimed at delivering the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), whose goal is to positively impact the lives of all Kenyans

"The government has prioritized making all parts of the country easily accessible through construction and upgrading of roads, which are essentially the engine of rapid development and inclusive economic growth. Sound transport infrastructure opens up every corner of the country for trade by linking producers of goods and the markets," he said.

In the afternoon, the Head of State will inspect the progress of affordable housing in the county. 

The 220-unit Bomet affordable housing located in Chepalungu Constituency started in October last year.

President Ruto will also launch the Upgrading of Bomet town link roads

"The affordable housing projects in both Bomet and Kericho will not only provide decent homes for the residents from humble backgrounds, they will play a central role in the creation of jobs and boosting MSMEs through the award of contracts to supply construction materials such as metal windows and doors.

"Furthermore, the housing projects seek to prevent further subdivision of arable land, thereby securing food security in the country," State House said.

The President on Thursday started a two-day development tour of Kericho and Bomet counties. 

In Kericho, Ruto launched the Belgut Technical Training Institute digital hub. The hub will equip the youths with digital skills to enable them to tap the immense opportunities available online.

"Equipping the youths with digital skills is part of the government’s broad plan to create one million online jobs every year."

He also launched affordable housing, a modern Chepseon market, upgrade of the Kapsuser-Sosiot road, a reconstruction of the Chepseon-Maili Nne road, an upgrade of Kericho town roads and a passport centre.

The Talai Affordable Housing Project at Ainamoi Constituency, Kericho County will see construction of 320 units.
