Radio Africa’s Quarcoo to be feted with Lifetime Achievement Award at media leader’s Summit

Radio Africa Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo is set to be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award, by the AllAfrica Media Leaders’ Summit.

The organisers of the summit said the award will be in honour of his dedication and contributions, which have shaped the landscape of journalism in Africa.

They said Quarcoo’s unwavering commitment to excellence has set a standard of integrity and professionalism that continues to inspire the industry for generations to come.

“Your impact on the development of The Radio Africa Group is immeasurable, and your legacy is a testament to your passion for truth, storytelling, and the power of communication,” AllAfrica said in a notification dated April 30.

“We believe that your outstanding achievements deserve the highest form of recognition, and we are delighted to bestow upon you this Lifetime Achievement Award during our upcoming edition of the AllAfrica Media Leaders.”

The Summit will held in Nairobi, Kenya, from May 8th to 10th, 2024.

The notification came ahead of the summit’s Award Gala Dinner set for May 9, 2024.

AllAfrica added that Quarcoo’s dedication to his craft and commitment to upholding the highest principles of journalism have made him a true trailblazer in the media sector.

“His influence has not only transformed the media landscape but has also left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of all around the world, who have had the privilege of experiencing his work,” it noted.

“We look forward to celebrating your remarkable career and honoring your exceptional contributions at the award ceremony, where your legacy will be celebrated by industry peers, and admirers from all walks of life.”

The 2024 AllAfrica Media Leaders’ Summit brings together over 300 African media owners and operators, government officials, corporate leaders, academics, civil society champions, and development partners.

The theme for the 2024 Summit is Re-engineering African Media in Times of Critical Transformation.

It aims to discuss the business of media and the critical role it must play in shaping Africa’s future.

Among the agendas to be discussed during the summit are; African Economic Transformation, AI, Technology and Digitization, Regional Integration and Peace Building, Misinformation and Disinformation, Governance, Standards, Capacity Building and Creating Sustainable Business Models.
