All 34 residents of the collapsed building in Nairobi’s Mountain View Ward, Uthiru area, have been located and are safe, the Nairobi County government has said.

Nairobi Disaster Management Chief Officer Bramwel Simiyu said no casualties have been reported from the incident.

He allayed fears of four missing residents who earlier included a 10-year-old girl saying the concerns have been cleared.

"The building was sinking slowly, and all the residents were able to jump out and manage to exit the building," Simiyu said.

However, he said the county government emergency team will continue to scour the area as they wait for Kenya Defence Forces Assistance from Kahawa Barracks to deploy their sniffer dogs to establish a possibility of someone trapped in the debris.

Simiyu said there is one house with a gas flame that was allowed to burn out safely.

"The Nairobi City County Government is providing immediate humanitarian aid for the night and plans to provide further support and facilitate reintegration," he said.

Kenya Red Cross has also confirmed that all tenants are accounted four adding that only one female was injured.

"One female, who was rescued at the onset of the incident, was taken to the hospital by well-wishers," KRC said Wednesday morning.

"Ten others were treated at the scene by the Red Cross Action team. As of now, all tenants have been accounted for."
