Moment Ruto noticed breach of protocol at Coca-Cola headquarters

Did we jump the queue? This was the question President William Ruto shot after he was invited to speak at the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta.

US ambassador Meg Whitman had been invited to speak by the moderator.

Meg walked to the podium and delivered her speech on the Kenya-US partnership.

"It's now my pleasure to invite the president of Kenya William Ruto," she said as the delegates stood up while clapping for the president.

But when he spoke, Ruto wondered whether there had been a protocol hitch as those in his entourage had not spoken.

"Did we jump the queue?" The question prompted an apology from the moderator.

"We apologise Your Excellency. We have had a long day. Please welcome Rebecca Miano to make her remarks," he said.

CS Miano then walked to the podium and delivered her remarks before inviting the president.
