KRA to extend working hours from June 3

This is to facilitate the filing of tax returns on or before June 30.

The Kenya Revenue Authority has announced an extension to its working hours from June 3 to June 30.

This is to facilitate the filing of tax returns on or before June 30.

At the service centres (Tax Service Offices), the working time is from 7 am to 7 pm, while on Saturdays the offices will be open from 9 am to 1 pm and closed on Sundays. 

This is the exception of June 29 and 30, when the offices will be open from 9 am to 6 pm.

At select Huduma Centres, KRA will serve from 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays and remain closed for the weekend.

The select Centres include GPO HC, City Square HC, Kibra HC, Makadara HC and Eastleigh HC in the Nairobi region.

Others are Mombasa HC, Nakuru HC, Kericho HC, Eldoret HC, Kitale HC, Meru HC, Embu HC, Kiambu HC, Laikipla HC, Nyeri HC, Kisumu HC, Kakamega HD and Kisii HC.

All other Huduma Centres will be open from 8 am to 5 pm.

As for the contact centre, it will be open from 7 am to 7 pm on weekdays except June 24 to 28, when it will remain open from 7 am to 10 pm.

Over Saturday, the contact centre will open at 9 am and close at 4 pm, while on Sundays it will be open from 9 am to 1 pm.

This is except for June 30, when it will run from 9 am to midnight.

KRA has advised taxpayers to log in to itax.kra.go.ke to file their returns.
