Somalia President tours BBS Mall in Eastleigh during visit to Kenya

Mohamud lauded the economic collaboration, strong ties between Kenya and Somalia

Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited the Business Bay Square Mall (BBS Mall) in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

He was accompanied by a delegation including Kenyan Defence CS Aden Duale, Somalia Ambassador to Kenya Jabril Ibrahim Abdille, and Kamukunji MP Yussuf Hassan.

He explored the complex, including the bowling area (Party on Arcade), the mosque, the diverse food court, tenant shops, and the soon-to-open gold souk.

The visit culminated with a delightful stop at Jifora restaurant, where President Mohamud enjoyed a meal, refreshments, and entertainment.

He applauded the importance of economic collaboration and fostering strong ties between Kenya and Somalia.

The event attracted enthusiastic shoppers and a large contingent from the Somali community eager to catch a glimpse of their leader.

The BBS Mall management expressed their honour at hosting President Mohamud and his delegation.

They said that the visit signifies Kenya and Somalia's positive economic and cultural exchange.

This year's theme is “Africa’s Transformation: the African Development Bank, and the Reform of the Global Financial Architecture".

Presidents who attended the meeting were Paul Kagame-Rwanda, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé-Togo, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa-Zimbabwe, Mohamed Younis al-Menfi-Libya, Joseph Nyuma Boakai- Liberia, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi- Mozambique and Evariste Ndayishimiye-Burundi.

Others were Mohamed Ould Ghazouani- Mauritania, Denis Sassou Nguesso-Congo, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-Ghana, Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister Ethiopia, Felix Tshisekedi- DR Congo, Samia Suluhu Hassan-Tanzania.
