Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is considered the man to beat as he goes up against Embakasi North MP James Gakuya for the influential Nairobi UDA chairman post.

Gakuya enjoys the backing of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua while Sakaja is banking on the benefit of party grassroots networks across the county to floor his opponent, a seasoned mobiliser.

Sakaja on Wednesday assembled his Nairobi county UDA troops comprising former ward and constituency aspirants, sitting MPs and influential figures to support him.

“Asanteni sana delegates wetu all the best tomorrow na tukisonga mbele,” he said.
