Normal operations resume at JKIA after runway hitch

Airports authority said a disabled aircraft has been removed from the runway.

Normal operations have resumed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) said in a statement Tuesday afternoon that the runaway which had been closed is now operational. 

"The disabled aircraft has been recovered from the runway and normal airport operations have resumed. Thank you for your patience and cooperation," the authority said.

Earlier on, KAA had notified of closure due to to the incident.

The Authority said all passengers aboard the aircraft are safe.
