Amid the teargas, water canons and drama, there was a light moment as a police officer engaged arrested protesters.

Kenyans on Tuesday came out at the Nairobi CBD to protest over the Finance Bill being tabled in Parliament.

There were running battles between protesters and police in the Nairobi CBD.

In a video seen by the Star, a group of protesters were seen bundled in a police car as they engaged them.

One of those arrested was confessing how the day was unlucky for him to get arrested.

"Today I'm in the news," he said.

"Are you happy with how Kenya is right now?" A protester asked the police.

"Ni ile mlichagua," the police responded. Reiterating his words, the protestor added "Ni ile tu watu walichugua."

The officer then directed the camera person to ask more questions to the protester who was arrested before the police car took off.

Tuesday’s protests dubbed Occupy Parliament coincided with the tabling of the Bill in the House.

Several Kenyans have been arrested for participating in the #OccupyParliament protests.

Those who attempted to assemble outside the National Centre, National Archives, Kencom and Jeevanjee grounds were swiftly arrested.

The protest came ahead of the tabling of the Finance Bill, 2024 report by the National Assembly's Finance and Planning Committee.
