Kisii youths take to streets to protest Finance Bill

Dozens of youth in Kisii Thursday poured into the streets, to join hands in the ongoing nationwide protests against the Finance Bill.

The protesters largely consisted of students and content creators waving placards in the streets calling for the rejection of the bill.

The protests started at 11 am from Mwembe, an estate patronized by university students, before they headed over to the Capital Round About in Kisii town.

Police officers earlier seen patrolling the streets were nowhere in sight as the protesters chanted anti-Ruto slogans

At Capital Round About, they sang even as they called for the total rejection of the finance bill.

"Am standing here at the Capital Round About, people are growing poorer and poorer by the day," stated Peter Makori.

Another protester Peter Odongo said there was no tangible development witnessed.

Irvin Akama said desperation is haunting millions of Kenyan households in the face of growing taxation.
