Kisumu police block protesters along road heading to State Lodge

A section of protestors in Kisumu matched toward the State Lodge in Kisumu but was blocked by officers manning the road to the lodge.

The protestors knelt along the road, hands raised in a peaceful gesture as they moved towards the unmoved officers shouting 'We are peaceful'.

When they reached next to the officers they told them that they had no issues with the officers but were merely exercising their rights.

The protestors told the officers that their entire demo for the day was peaceful and they just wanted their message passed to President William Ruto.

They noted that they were the same and were fighting for the same course because the current situation within the country was affecting all, police included.

Their conversation with the police remained non-confrontational.

The protestors expressed their loss of faith in the current leadership and voiced strong opposition to the ways in which the Finance Bill was handled.

Later, they left the area and walked back towards town.
