Youth holding batons were spotted in the streets of Eldoret town on Thursday as the government deployed soldiers to assist the police manage anti-Finance Bill protesters.

Unlike in other major towns where protesters were unarmed, the youth in Eldoret appeared to carry weapons.

There were, however, no scenes of ugly confrontation between the armed youth and the police.

Demonstrations have been held in various major towns on Thursday even after President William Ruto rejected to sign the Finance Bill, 2024 and withdrew it in totality.

In Nairobi, Kenyan police fired teargas at dozens of protesters and blocked off streets leading to the State House.

The turnout was well down from the height of the mass rallies that were held on Tuesday that left at least 20 people dead.

Kisumu, Mombasa, Migori, Mombasa, and Homa Bay are all witnessed protests.
