ACK Bishop of Eldoret Dr Christopher Ruto is asking President William Ruto to focus on youth as he implements changes in government.
Ruto has at the same time asked the President to ensure he implements all promises he made so as to help restore citizens' confidence in government.
“We urge the President to mean well for all that he has said and make good all his promises including desired changes that will not leave anyone out,” Bishop Ruto said.
The bishop said leaders should not only focus on political solutions but also seek to end Kenya’s longtime problems especially corruption and joblessness among the young people.
Bishop Ruto who spoke during a Sunday service at the St Mathews church in Eldoret said laws on the fight against graft must be fully enforced to help rid the country of the vice.
“The President must also ensure there are deliberate and serious efforts to address issues affecting the youth especially joblessness,” the bishop said.
He said the youth had genuine concerns which caused recent protests and leaders must unite to deal with the issues raised during the protests.
He said there must be serious efforts that will involve youth in all that happens in the country..
At the same time, Bishop Ruto said the Church supports all inclusive dialogue that would lead to desired changes into how the country is managed.
“Dialogue or any conversation on the issue at hand should be for all Kenyans so that they have an input into how they want our country to be managed,” Bishop Ruto said.
He said taxes paid by Kenyans must be used for the benefit of the entire country and not for some individuals or sections of the country.
“Let no Kenya feel left out of all the programmes we have because we all pay taxes which must be used prudently to develop the country,” he said.
