Police are investigating an incident in which a teenage epileptic boy choked to death in his room at a children’s home in the Uthiru area, Nairobi.

Managers at the home told police the deceased fell from his bed on Saturday, August 10 and choked leading to his death.

Police were called to the scene and established the body was lying motionless with vomit from his mouth.

The team was informed the boy has been managing epilepsy and the Saturday fall was fatal.

The scene was processed and the body was moved to the hospital pending autopsy and other investigations, police said.

People with such challenges usually need special care to manage their conditions.

Police said they wanted to establish if the victim had the needed attention at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, police in Uriri, Migori County are investigating an incident in which a body of a woman was found in a river after suspected drowning.

The woman was identified as Snaidan Otieno, 24, police said.

She is believed to have drowned in river Nyaronga within Nyaroya village.

It was established that the deceased who is mentally challenged was heading to the said river to fetch water when she drowned.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations.

Police said they want to establish if there was any form of foul play in the death.
