Let's connect! CS Oparanya says as he opens new Facebook page

Cooperative and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has called on Kenyans to connect with him through his new Facebook page.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, Oparanya said the page will be used to issue regular updates on the undertakings of his ministry.

He called on Kenyans to connect and have discussions with him through the page on how to empower Kenyans and strengthen cooperatives.

"Just launched my official Facebook page. Follow me there for regular updates on our efforts at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development. Let's connect and discuss how we can empower our entrepreneurs and strengthen our cooperatives together," Oparanya said on X.

The CS added that the interactions on the page will help in collectively contributing to building a thriving economy.

Oparanya thanked Kenyans for their trust and support as he took on his new role.

"This page will serve as a platform to share updates, insights, and developments from the ministry and a space to engage with you on how we can collectively contribute to building a resilient and thriving economic landscape for our nation," he wrote on the page.

"I look forward to our journey together in fostering growth and prosperity for all Kenyans." 

Oparanya is among five opposition party, the Orange Democratic Movement leaders who were picked by President William Ruto to join his Cabinet.

Others are Hassan Joho who is the current Mining CS, Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), John Mbadi (National Treasury) and Beatrice Askul (East African Community and Regional Affairs).

Before becoming CS, Oparanya was ODM's deputy party leader.

He previously served as Kakamega Governor for two terms, from 2013 - 2022.

Oparanya had also served as Butere MP from 2002 - 2012.
