List of Nairobi estates to go without water on Thursday

The water will be unavailable from 6 am to 6 pm.

The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Ltd has announced that several estates will go without water on Thursday.

In a notice seen by the Star, Nairobi Water said this will be because of a shutdown to allow the interconnection of the Kigoro-Gigiri water pipeline.

The process will start at 6 am and end at 6pm.

"The shutdown will facilitate interconnection of the Kigoro-Gigiri water supply pipeline at the Gigiri Pumping Station and Reservoirs on Thursday, August 22, 2024, starting from 6am to 6pm.

"We appeal to our customers for patience and urge them to use their available water sparing as we work towards restoring the water supply," the notice reads.

Areas that will be affected include the Central Business District, areas along Mombasa Road, South B, and South C estates including Mater Hospital, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), SGR, Athi River Export Processing Zone (EPZA), Coca Cola, Mukuru, Imara Daima, Estates and Industries along North Airport Road and Embakasi Village, Tassia Estate.

Ngara area, Forest Road, Desai Road, Kipande Road, Limuru Road, Murang'a Road and Park Road, Gigiri, Whispers Avenue, Village Market, UNEP and US Embassy will also be affected.

General Service Unit and Administration Police Training Schools and Nairobi Internal Container Depot and parts of Baraka Estate, Industries along Masai Road and Adjacent areas.

Umoja 1, Umoja 2, Old and New Donholm, Nyayo Embakasi, Fedha, Kwa Ndege, Avenue Park, Plot 10, Tumaini flats, Kware and Environs, Eastleigh, Maringo, Buruburu Phase 3, Gikomba, Pumwani, Majengo and Shauro Moyo will also be affected.

Other places are Mathare North, GSU, Rafiki, Utalii College, KPLC Training School, Traffic Headquarters, Mathari Hospital, Mlango Kubwa, Juja Road, Huruma, Ngei I and II, Kosovo, parts of Baba Dogo Light Industries and the whole of Industrial area.
