President William Ruto has exuded confidence in his newly appointed Cabinet.

He said ODM leaders appointed to head various ministries will perform because of their experience and dedication to work.

The President said the ministries will move forward with the ODM leaders included.

"I do not doubt in my mind that you have what it takes to move our country forward in the ministry that you have an opportunity to serve," the President said.

The President was speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Cooperative and MSMEs CS Wycliffe Oparanya in Kakamega.

Ruto said that Oparanya has the blessing of God to work with him and change the country.

He added that Oparanya was selected due to his good performance in the county and other offices he held before.

"It is because he was a good, selfless and had integrity he had," Ruto added.

He said that both the manifesto of ODM and UDA had similar projects and proposals.

"I know there will be no trouble when CS Oparanya and the other ODM leaders join us to develop the nation. I do not doubt that it will be easy for the cabinet to work together because our manifestos bring us together rather than separating us," Ruto added.

Ruto underscored his decision to involve opposition leaders in his government saying it was crucial for the nation's unity.

He noted that Kenya was in an exceptional situation which necessitated putting aside personal or political interests.

"There comes a time in the life of a nation when the unity of the nation, the progress of Kenya, the transformation of our nation is much more important than any other political persuasion, political sides, political formation or any community interests," he said.

"It is even beyond the personal interests of leaders, we must come together and that is such a moment in our country," he added.

The head of state pointed out that the transformation of the nation requires all leaders and Kenyans at large to be united regardless of their political affiliations.

Ruto asked leaders from various political affiliations to support ongoing efforts to unite Kenyans for the sake of unity and transformation.

The President appealed to leaders who do not support the broad-based government to do so in the spirit of patriotism.
