The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced that the crash barrier at the end of Peponi Road will be fixed starting Tuesday.
KURA Chief Corporate Communication Officer John Cheboi told the Star on Monday that the contractor already ordered the barrier.
“The contractor has ordered the barrier and it will be installed tomorrow (Tuesday),” Cheboi said in a phone interview.
It is reported that a Mercedes broke through the crash barrier on the roundabout at the end of Peponi Road three weeks ago.
The car ended up on the Red Hill-Waiyaki Link Road.
Reports indicate this was the third time a speeding car smashed the crash barrier.
Crash barriers serve as the safety measure for motorists, and pedestrians preventing roadside hazards.
