President Ruto gifted humongous fish in Homa Bay

President Ruto gave the owner of the fish some unknown amount of money in return.

President William Ruto has been gifted a humongous fish (Mbuta) in Homa Bay County.

The President who is on a working tour of the country received the fish after he had finished his address in Homa Bay town.

The gift came as soon as Governor Gladys Wanga started her address.

She is part of ODM leaders accompanying the President on the tour of Homa Bay, alongside Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, among other leaders.

Wanga explained that the fish is called Mbuta.

"Your Excellency, hio samaki ni Mbuta, ukule vizuri sana na tunashukuru," Wanga is heard saying.

This translates to, " That fish is called Mbuta. Eat it well and we are very grateful."

President Ruto gave the owner of the fish some unknown amount of money in return.

Ruto is on the second day of his planned four-day tour of the Nyanza region.

The tour started on Wednesday with an extensive visit to Migori county where the President launched several projects.

He also visited Kisumu county.

On Thursday morning, Ruto launched the Oyugis Water Project that will benefit the residents of Kabondo Kasipul and Kasipul.

Ruto noted that Homa Bay is growing fast and requires reliable and accessible supply of over 120 million litres of water daily.
