Ruto appoints 8-member selection panel for recruitment of SRC commissioners

Outgoing chairperson Lynn Mengich and seven commissioners of SRC took office in September 2018

President William Ruto has appointed an eight-member selection panel for the recruitment of Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) commissioners.

This follows the expiry of the former Commission's six-year term in office.

The chairperson Lynn Mengich and seven commissioners of SRC took office in September 2018.

The outgoing commissioners have already handed over their exit reports to President William Ruto ahead of the expiry of their terms in September.

According to the Constitution, holders of constitutional commissions and independent offices serve for a non-renewable term of six years.

Those selected include;

  • FCS Joshua Wambua, representing the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA)
  • FCPA Patrick Mtange (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya-ICPAK)
  • Monica Sifuna (Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis-KIPPRA)
  • CHRP Quresha Abdullahi (Institute of Human Resource Management)
  • Amos Gathecha (Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Service)
  • Mary Kimonye (Executive Office of the President)
  • Lawrence Kibet (National Treasury and Economic Planning)
  • Samuel Kaumba (Office of the Attorney General)

Ruto also constituted Selection panels for the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ), National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC) and Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA)

"His Excellency the President has today constituted the requisite Selection Panels for the recruitment of nominees for appointment as Chairpersons and Members to the Commissions Offices," Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei said.

The President called on all interested and qualified individuals to apply for the available positions.
