Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Eliud Lagat made another unannounced visit to Nanyuki Police Station on Thursday night.
During the visit, Lagat emphasized the importance of service delivery, accountability and responsibility among police officers.
"I am keen on service delivery to the members of the public, your accountability and responsibility for your actions,” he said.
Lagat arrived shortly after 9:30 pm.
He was welcomed by Chief Inspector Abel Mwarania, the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Laikipia, and joined by Laikipia East Sub-County Police Commander John Tarus.
Lagat inspected various sections of the station, including the report office, cells, Traffic section and the Police Care Centre.
He expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness and maintenance of the Police Care Centre, particularly commending the attention given to the safety of children in police custody.
He was also briefed on the security situation within the area of the county by Laikipia East County Police Commander, Stephen Wambua, CCIO Judith Kimara and Deputy Base Commander, Inspector Phibby Itiria.
Lagat was accompanied by several senior officials, including KPS Director of Logistics, Peter Ndung’u, National Police Service Spokesperson Resila Onyango, AIG, and Deputy Director of Operations KPS, David Mburukwa.
Lagat has made several surprise visits across the country including Kilimani Police Station, Nakuru police station, Mwiki police station in Kasarani, and Kondele police station among others.
