At least two children were Thursday night killed in a fire incident in Nairobi’s Umoja Three area.

More than 20 structures were destroyed in the incident, police said.

The fire brigade with the help of members of the public managed to contain the spread of the fire minutes later when they discovered the bodies boy and girl in the room.

Their house was among those affected by the fire.

Police said they are yet to establish the cause of the fire.

Locals said it started from one of the affected structures before it spread fast to the others flattening them.

Police said property of unknown value was destroyed.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in Parklands, Nairobi, a fire broke out at Ribeiro Parklands Boys Boarding Secondary School affecting a dormitory.

Police said investigators had established the fire emanated from Marsabit 3 Dormitory which housed 30 students.

Officials from the Nairobi County Fire Brigade responded and managed to put off the fire.

During the incident, many of the students’ valuables were destroyed.

No injuries were recorded, police said adding the cause of the fire is yet to be known.

Police said they are investigating the incidents.
