The Ministry of Health has labelled as fake a post on X alleging that Public Health PS Mary Muthoni will take part in a church fundraising.
The Ministry took to its X page to flag the post as such, saying there were attempts to hack the handle and post the false information.
"Attempts have been made to hack our X handle and post false information," MoH said.
"Please disregard this and any unusual posts. We are working to resolve the issue."
The fake post stated that a certain church was set for a development fundraiser on October 6, and PS Muthoni and other officials would be attending the fundraising.
In a statement by the PS debunking the details of the post, she said she does not participate in harambees.
"Don't waste your time hacking the ministry's page. I don't do harambees, and I will continue working for this nation. Hey, get busy!" she tweeted.
On July 5, President William Ruto said that no state officer would be allowed to participate in fundraising activities going forward.
The president also directed the state officers to keep off philanthropic activities.
"The Attorney General is hereby directed to prepare and submit legislation to this effect and develop a mechanism for structured and transparent contribution for public, charitable, and philanthropic purposes," Ruto said then.
