Detectives are investigating an incident where Gunmen shot and injured a couple in an attack at their home in Majogi village, Meru County.
According to police, a man identified as Stephen Makanju sustained three gunshot wounds to his stomach while his wife was shot in the abdomen.
The motive of the attack is yet to be known, police said.
Police say, the perpetrators attempted to set their four-bedroom house on fire but were unsuccessful.
The men shot at the main door of the house and also killed one of the cows, police said.
Upon arriving at the scene, police recovered two spent cartridges of 5.56mm.
The evidence will be sent for ballistic analysis, police said.
The victims were taken to Kiwa Mission Hospital for medical treatment.
No recovery or arrests have been made.
The incident is still pending under investigation.
