Detectives are probing three separate cases of death by suicide in Nakuru and Embu counties.

The first incident was reported in Kaptembwo, Nakuru county. A woman named Rahab Wanjiku Kiarie aged 53 years was found hanging inside her single-roomed house.

She had hanged herself with a piece of cloth tied around her neck.

Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the incident. No suicide note was recovered. The body was moved to Nakuru County Mortuary pending autopsy.

The second incident was still in Nakuru but in the Rhonda area.

A 22-year-old man identified as Kelvin Njoroge, had hanged himself using a sisal rope tied around his neck in one of the unfinished buildings.

The incident happened in the Sewage area, police said.

Preliminary investigations from officers from Rhonda police station established that the deceased was likely suffering from a drug addiction.

The body was moved to Annex County Mortuary Nakuru for autopsy.

The third incident was in Embu County.

Kariuki Njue, a 56-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself using a sisal rope tied around his neck on one of the window grills inside his house.

No suicide note was found and the motive of the incident is unknown.

The body was moved to Embu Level Five Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

These incidents are the most recent to be reported to the police, reflecting a rising trend with up to two cases reported each day.

This comes after World Suicide Prevention Day in September 10, which highlighted the need for increased awareness and support for mental health issues.

The World Health Organization says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal and financial difficulties.
