Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru on Wednesday hosted the Clerk of the National Assembly, Samuel Njoroge and officials from the State Law Office for a consultative meeting.

The meeting was held at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi. 

The meeting’s focus was to reinforce the already positive relationships between the three organ; the Ministry of Defence, Parliament and State Law Office in the legislation process of defence-related matters.

Mariru thanked the officials for their support in the formulation and ratification of various laws, Acts, treaties and policies aligned to defence, in line with the Whole-of-Government-Approach.

 “We have been constantly seeking guidance from the two offices, especially the Attorney General whom we have consulted countless times” Mariru said

He added that the office has been kind enough to provide legal guidance on a wide range of issues and he seeks to continue to work together for the mutual benefit of Kenyans.

Also present at the meeting were Brigadier Yvonne Kerubo, Chief of Legal Services at Defence Headquarters, and Brigadier Samuel Kimani, Chief of Strategic Policy and Plans.
