Police probe two murder cases in Kisumu and Bungoma

The murders involved two men, where one was assaulted before succumbing to injuries.

Police have launched investigations into two separate murder incidents reported in Kisumu and Bungoma counties.

In Kisumu East at Ragumo, a 37-year-old man succumbed to injuries on Tuesday after he was seriously assaulted by unknown people.

Police said the incident happened on Monday.

Pius Orodi had been referred to Jaramogi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.

Police said the case is under investigation. 

In Bungoma County, police are probing the death of Paul Kisulya whose body was found floating at Mayanja Dam, Sango "B" village.

Police said after receiving the report on Tuesday morning, they rushed to the scene and retrieved the body with the help of the locals.

Upon thorough observation the body had visible injuries suspected to have been inflicted by a sharp object and with both eyes gouged out, police said.

The scene was processed and the body was moved to Bungoma County referral hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
