Two suspects linked to violent robberies in Nakuru county have been arrested in the Ngata area.

DCI said the arrest took place thanks to the collaborative efforts of detectives from the Rift Valley Regional Criminal Investigations Office (RCIO), DCI Rongai, and DCI Nakuru.

The suspects were found inside a motor vehicle at the Mercy Njeri location in the Rongai subcounty.

Several items believed to have been stolen from victims, including four mobile phones and a variety of clothing items, were recovered.

Further, the detectives recovered weapons such as a knife, machete, crowbar, and heavy-duty cutting pliers. The tools are suspected to have been used not only to break into homes but also to inflict injuries on victims during the robberies.

DCI said the suspects are currently in custody at Menengai police station, awaiting arraignment.

“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations extends its appreciation to the members of the public for their unwavering support and implores upon all to continue to provide actionable intelligence that is vital in our collective fight against crime,” DCI said in a statement on X.
