Bystander kills suspected robber with arrow after mugging in Nakuru

A woman on her way home from work in Nakuru county was attacked by a group of armed robbers, who stole two mobile phones, Sh2,000, and personal belongings. 

The attackers, armed with knives, fled after the victim raised an alarm.

Police officers on foot patrol immediately responded, giving chase.

During the pursuit, a bystander shot one of the suspects with an arrow, killing him, while the other accomplices managed to escape.

At the scene, police recovered a dagger from the deceased suspect, which was tucked into his trousers.

His body was taken to Annex County Mortuary in Nakuru for identification and an autopsy. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

In Adelle, Tana River County, a man was shot by unknown assailants in the chest while he was on his way home.

Police said the man identified as Patrick Mwiti, aged 35 years, was attacked by three unknown individuals, one of whom was armed with an AK rifle.

Nothing was stolen from him, Police said

Police officers from Madogo police station visited the scene and recovered a spent cartridge of 7.62 mm special.

The injured victim was taken to Garissa General Hospital and is in fair condition.

Elsewhere in Teso, Busia County, thugs broke into a school ICT room and a deputy headteacher’s office.

Police say they broke the windowpanes and stole one projector and 59 digital devices belonging to the learners.

The case is still pending investigation.
