Mudavadi engages Moroccan counterpart on trade, development

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi met with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and mutual development between the two nations.

In a statement on X, Mudavadi said the conversation highlighted the longstanding partnership that has existed between Kenya and Morocco, focusing on trade and strategic collaboration.

"Minister Bourita briefed me on Morocco's progress in the fertilizer sector and their readiness to supply Kenya, a significant step towards boosting food security in our country," Mudavadi said.

Mudavadi said they further deliberated on key African Union matters. He also took the opportunity to advocate for the candidature of Raila Odinga for the position of African Union Commission Chairperson in the upcoming February elections.

Mudavadi also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski.

"We are pleased to explore opportunities for collaboration with the Republic of Poland in the dairy sector and the enhancement of grain handling facilities in Mombasa," Mudavadi said.

"We engaged in fruitful discussions on areas of mutual interest that promise to strengthen the partnership between our two countries."

Mudavadi said Sikorski expressed Poland’s readiness to invest further, particularly in the energy sector, including initiatives to expand last-mile connectivity.

"Kenya and Poland already have a number of signed MoUs focusing on tax solidarity, agriculture and food security, and rural development. These agreements build on the fruitful visit of President Andrzej Duda of Poland to Kenya in early February this year."
