Contrary to media reports that insinuated the National Lands Commission had decided on the disputed Kakuzi Land, it has emerged the matter is still under probe.

Reports had suggested that the company was on the verge of allocating the 14,000 acres of disputed land to squatters who have lived on it for years.

The claim followed the NLC officials' visit to the area in early September during which reports emerged that the squatters were set to be allocated land.

The Star has however established that the visit sought to understand in detail the issues contained in some 13 historical land injustices claims made against Kakuzi.
