Wamae said the government should work with Kenyans to construct large and small-scale water storage facilities as Kenyans await for the rains.

"The government of Kenya should borrow a leaf from Moi and work with Kenyans to ensure we have water storage as a local solution," Wamae said.

On Tuesday, President William Ruto together with First Lady Rachel Ruto and other leaders met at Nyayo National Stadium to pray for rains as the ongoing drought continues to ravage counties.

Ruto had invited Kenyans to the national prayer ceremony to pray for  God’s intervention to avail rains and bless the country.
