On the radar: Kindiki, Murkomen among CSs to appear in Parliament

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki is among the five CSs who are slated to appear before the Senate on Wednesday to answer questions. 

Others are Kipchumba Murkomen (Transport), Peninah Malonza (Tourism), Zacharia Njeru (Lands) and Ezekiel Machogu (Education).

The lot will appear in the senate plenary from 9.30 am.

They will be the second group of ministry bosses to appear since the inaugural CSs’ question in the chamber.

Last week, CSs Kindiki, Njeru and Salim Mvurya (Mining) became the first to appear before the senators in the whole house.

Uhuru vs Sabina Chege 

Jubilee party members under the camp of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta have vowed to fight back following Sabina Chege's appointment as the party leader. 

The legislators said Sabina's ouster is on course and will be concluded during the National Delegation Convention on May 22. 

Azimio Protesters arraigned

Over 42 people arrested during the anti-government protests on Tuesday will be arraigned in court today.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki announced that police arrested 14 of the protesters in Nairobi and it’s expected that they will be taken to different courts in the city depending on the jurisdiction of where they were arrested.

32 were arrested in different parts in deferent parts of Nyanza region and will be charged in the various courts there.

Shakahola cult 

Security officials have identified 15 mass graves that are yet to be touched at the Shakahola forest, Kilifi County.

This is likely to increase the number of bodies recovered from the forest even as the search for survivors goes on.

One person was Tuesday arrested while two female adults were rescued from the forest.
