Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure has praised his Defence counterpart Aden Duale terming him a true loyalist.

Kindiki said at the time money was being splashed to sway those perceived to be President William Ruto’s strong supporters Duale chose to stick with him instead of being bribed.

“Many people believe that politicians love money, Duale and his experience proved that not all politicians love money because if it were about money then at a time when it was either you betray William and get all the money in this world or stick with him, he chose his friend,” he claimed on Thursday.

He did not, however, disclose who wanted to bribe the leaders.

Speaking during the launch of Duale’s book For the Record, Kindiki explained that Duale’s position and those of other allies in government currently came as rewards for their loyalty.

He reminded politicians that friendship and loyalty pay hence they should avoid being deceived for self-gains.

“To the younger politicians, please friendship, loyalty and truth are superior to power, money and betrayal,” the CS said.

President William Ruto was the chief guest during the event also attended by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua among other leaders.

The book, according to Duale was influenced by the proceedings in Parliament and contains behind-the-scenes utterances and happenstances that “should not be forgotten”.

“Contrary to what many people expected, I have not attacked to injure the reputation of any person in the book. It is the politics of deceit and lies and its perpetrators that I call out,” he said during a TV interview.

He said a lot of information in the book is mainly from Parliament.

"What I am telling Kenyans is history and a tale of records, then I picked the title For the Record," he said.
