One dies, two injured in Kitengela town morning accident

Police in Kitengela said the two vehicles were moving in the opposite when they collided

One person has died and two others injured after their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming car in Kitengela. 

Police in Kitengela said the two vehicles were moving in the opposite when they collided near the Tarikvile shopping mall on the Namanga highway.

“The accident happened after 1 am on Saturday and the driver of the vehicle carrying two passengers died on the spot,” Kitengela OCS David Shani said.

Police said the vehicle that had three passengers was heading towards Kitengela CBD while the other was headed towards Kajiado town.

“There was one passenger woman, who suffered slight injuries, but the male passenger suffered several fractures in the legs, hands and a crack on the waist,” police said.

The injured passengers were taken to hospital.

No one was injured in the other car.

The mother of the injured man told the Star her son was in stable condition.

She said doctors did head and back scans and found no injuries.

“They said my son is in stable condition and that they would fix the broken bones later this afternoon,” she said.

The spot where the accident happened in Kitengela is a black spot,  police said.
