Call me when you see Oparanya – Malala to Kakamega residents

He warned the former governor against leading anti-government protests in the county.

United Democratic Alliance Secretary General Cleophas Malala has warned former Kakamega Governor Wycliff Oparanya against leading anti-government protests in the county. 

Malala spoke on Wednesday in Kakamega.

The UDA SG told the residents to call him in case they site Oparanya in the vicinity. 

"Oparanya I am waiting for you here today. This issue of you wanting to destroy our town we are waiting for you. So any of you who sees Oparanya here please call me for us to ensure he does not come here to destroy our property," Malala said. 

Oparanya had last week led demos in Kakamega and was arrested.

Additionally, Malala said he is privy to information that there are Senators planning to lead the demos in Kakamega. 

Malala urged the residents to remain peaceful as the Azimio coalition leads nationwide protests set to run for three days from Wednesday to Friday. 

"Today as the people of Kakamega, let us try our best and remain peaceful," Malala said. 

Malala said Kakamega shall not entertain Maandamano which destroys lives and property.
