Ruto praises police for keeping peace during demos

He said Kenya must safeguard its peace adding that it is a collective responsibility.

President William Ruto has applauded the police for preserving peace during the anti-government protests. 

Ruto spoke in Isiolo town on Thursday during his tour of the region where he launched many roads. 

He said Kenya must safeguard its peace adding that it is a collective responsibility. 

"And I want to congratulate our police officers for being firm on their stand and ensuring that there is peace and that all the criminals are taken care of," he said 

Ruto said the police have worked tirelessly during the demos to ensure that peace prevails over violence. He maintained that the law enforcers protect both individual and government property.

The Head of State urged the people of Isiolo not to allow public property to be damaged in the wake of demos. 

Further, Ruto adds that he plans to beef up agricultural activities in Isiolo to help curb food insecurity in the region. 

"Putting a sufuria on your head for 10 years won't lower the price of maize flour but instead work on food production," he posed.

He said he is out to create employment for the youth through the Affordable Housing Program.
