The fourth President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally broken silence on claims that he is financing the ongoing anti-government demos being led by Azimio Chief Raila Odinga.

The fourth President on Monday said he is surprised by the claims that he is financing the demos.

"I am puzzled by claims that I am funding Azimo protests. For what benefit? " Uhuru posed.

Uhuru spoke in Nairobi during an interview with different media houses.

Since the anti-government protest started, the former President has constantly faced accusations of funding the demos.

The accusations have been rife from the Kenya Kwanza coalition which insists that Uhuru is supporting Raila in an attempt to destabilise the government.

While speaking during the commissioning of the Naivasha-Njabini Road at Kinamba Trading Centre in Nakuru County, President William Ruto told his predecessor to stop funding the demos.

Ruto claimed Uhuru has been financing Raila, alleging that the money was used to pay off members of the outlawed Mungiki sect.

"Na mimi nataka nimwambie rafiki yangu Uhuru hata wewe achana na huyu mzee. Wacha kumpea pesa ya kununua watu ya mugiki wachome Nairobi, " he said.

He urged the fourth president to show statesmanship and further warned that if Uhuru does not stop, he would be dealt with,.

"Usipowachana na yeye hata wewe tutakusafirisha na huyo kitendawili wako," he said.

Ruto said they had supported Uhuru when he was president, wondering why he was supporting the destruction of public property and vandalism in Nairobi.

However, Ruto did not provide evidence for his statement.
