Clergy, Nyanza MPs hold prayers for victims of demos

Before the prayers, the MPs visited the victims to listen to their predicaments and handed them cash to support their families.

Religious leaders and Members of Parliament from Nyanza have held interdenominational prayers for victims of alleged police brutality, at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, Kisumu.

Before the prayers, the MPs visited the victims to listen to their predicaments and handed them cash to support their families.

The MPs included Opondo Kaluma (Homa Bay Town), Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), Joshua Oron (Kisumu Central), Charles Ong'ondo ( Kasipul), Samuel Atandi (Alego-Usonga), Millie Odhiambo ( Suba North) and Rosa Buyu (Kisumu West).

Also present were women representatives Christine Ombaka ( Siaya), Fatuma Muhammed (Migori) and a host of Kisumu MCAs.

Power of Jesus Around the World archbishop Washington Ogonyo, Bishop Harnington Okwama and Sheik Hajji Juma were amongst the clergy leading the prayers.
