Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on public servants to stay away from corruption in their offices.
Speaking in Mulukhoba in Busia County, the Prime CS said it is high time to do away with the 'our tribe is being targeted' mentality and just do the right thing while in office.
"The government has different agencies that deal with corruption cases, it is good if we let the offices do their jobs. If you didn't commit any crime, you cannot lose your sleep, but if you got involved, you must face the consequences," he said.
"May we never use our tribes as a shield in the fight against corruption."
On protests that have rocked the county in recent months, Musalia said due to the protests, many businesses have been destroyed, while others have been burned down.
"Due to the protests, there are our neighbors who are business people who went to court after their goods were destroyed. They went to court and won the case. We are now obliged to pay up the damages and it is not a little amount," he said.
Musalia urged the Busia County residents to stay away from protests and build the country together by supporting the government.
He added that President William Ruto has included everyone from different divides in his administration.
"Our president has included everyone in his government by making several appointments.
"Do you think putting the security of Kenyans in the hands of PS Raymond Omollo is a mere task? Is this a person who is scared of anybody? Is that a person who does not believe in inclusivity?"
