Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwour alias Jalang'o has revealed that ODM leader Raila Odinga backed his campaigns with a donation of Sh5 million.

Jalang'o said Raila gave him the money to use in his campaigns.

He said the his campaigns would have been very difficult without the help of Raila.

"I know the big role that Baba played in me being a member of parliament. He supported me, he supported me not only by endorsing me but also financially," he said.

"We are among the few people that Baba told to plan an event and he would grace it to support us in our election. He gave me personally Sh5 million."

He spoke on Friday during an interview with TV47.

Jalang'o said the campaign was tough. He said it was not easy to beat the then Lang'ata MP Nickson Korir.

The MP said he still endeared to Raila adding that the Azimio Chief sees him as a son.

"Baba knows very well, wherever he is right now, he knows that I am his son and Baba loves me so much," he said.

After his expulsion from the ODM party, Jalang'o insisted that he would remain a member of the party till he got direct communication from Raila that he should exit.

"The party belongs to Raila Amollo Odinga and if I have not received communication from him. I am an ODM member, the Lang'ata MP until 2027. Take this to the bank because it is the truth. No changes have been made."

He was expelled alongside our other rebel MPs by the ODM party's National Executive Council.

The included Elisha Ochieng’ Odhiambo (Gem), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), and Tom Ojienda (Senator of Kisumu County).

They were expelled in a NEC convened by Raila.
