Kenya National Examination Council Chief Executive Officer David Njeng'ere has said teachers can now apply to be considered for hire as markers of this year's national examinations.

Njeng'ere in a statement on Friday said teachers who seek to be markers of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education must submit their applications online.

"Access KNEC Contracted Professionals Website using the link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke and log in using their username and password," Njeng'ere said.

He said for teachers seeking to mark KCPE exams should submit their applications from October 16, 2023.

Those seeking to mark the KCSE are to start making their applications from November 1, 2023.

Njeng'ere acknowledged that there are teachers who might have forgotten their passwords to the Contracted Professionals Website.

"Those who have forgotten their passwords should click on reset password button to enter their mobile numbers in the format (2547****) and submit to receive a new password for logging into the system," Njeng'ere said.

He said once a teacher successfully logs-in, they should key in their personal information and then save the changes.

Teachers will then use the dashboard provided to access, download, print and read the invitation letters and the marking instructions.

"Further instructions on acceptance and rejection of marking offer are given in the invitation letter," Njeng'ere said.

He said those with queries should contact the council via 0800-724 900, 0800-721-410, 0796-975-132  or 0796-975-104 for assistance or email [email protected] and [email protected].
