Thirdway Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot has laughed off Azimio leader Raila Odinga's remarks that he might support Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential bid in 2027.

According to Aukot, the former Prime Minister is taking Kalonzo on a wild goose chase.

"Kalonzo is being played. Thank me later," he said.

The Thirdway Alliance party leader is a known critic of both the opposition and the Kenya Kwanza government.

Aukot has also been vocal on the various issues affecting Kenyans and the country at large.

On Sunday, the Azimio leader slammed President William Ruto for saying that he was ready to face Kalonzo in the 2027 presidential general election.

Raila said anyone in Azimio, him included, can contest for presidency and he is ready to stand with Kalonzo.

"The other day, I heard President Ruto saying that he knows I will not contest and he is ready for Kalonzo. He talks about Kalonzo as if he is Kalonzo. Kalonzo is ten times better than him, he only wants to pit us against each other," he said.

Raila spoke during the 80th birthday party of his elder brother Oburu Odinga at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University in Bondo, on Sunday.

Raila showered Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka with praises for standing with him in his political journey.

He said Kalonzo has stood firm with him despite not being selected as his running mate in the August 9, 2022, presidential elections.

"Kalonzo has a good heart, hardworking and one you can trust, he is also a Christian. He is trustworthy and loving," Raila said.

Uncertainty remains on who will be the Azimio flagbearer with Raila perceived to have run his last election last year.

There have been talks on who will succeed him, with the Ukambani elected leaders pushing to have Kalonzo as their flagbearer in the 2027 general election.

Kalonzo deputised Raila in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections, which they lost to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's National Alliance and Jubilee parties.
