Police are investigating an incident in which a 26-year-old man was shot and killed as he harvested mangoes on a tree at the Chesegon border of West Pokot and Marakwet East subcounty.

Police said Dilo Kiptoo was harvesting mangoes at a farm when he was shot.

The attackers escaped the scene. The motive of the attack is yet to be known.

Meanwhile, two people drowned in two separate incidents.

The first incident happened in Kibarani, Mombasa, where the body of one Samuel Mwaura Nduati, 18, was found along the shores of the Indian Ocean.

The deceased body had injuries on the lips, and right ear and blood oozing through the mouth and nostrils.

Police are investigating the incident.

In Marsabit’s Loyangalani area, a 15-year-old girl drowned as she crossed the flooded Laga Yeyohi Tolet road.

Members of the public managed to retrieve the body and later buried her in accordance with the Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old man died by suicide in his house in Mutuini, Dagorretti, in Nairobi.

The man was a tenant in the house where his body was found dangling on the rafters with an electric wire tied around his neck, police said and identified him as Moses Kiarie Muiruri.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

In Kibera, 18-year-old Geoffrey Wakhafu left a suicide note behind before dying by suicide.

Police did not disclose the details of the note.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
