Basic Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang has confirmed that all KCPE examiners and markers have been paid.

Speaking during the release of the 2023 KCPE exams at Mitihani House in Nairobi, the PS said that even KCSE examiners will be paid on time.

"I want to assure all KCSE examiners that we will ensure they are paid on time," Kipsang said on Thursday.

After the completion of the KCPE exams on November 1, he said marking would commence immediately to allow parents to have the results of their children before the festive season.

"Before we break for Christmas, our parents would have known where their children would have been admitted to," Kipsang said.

"This will allow them to mobilise the necessary resources for them to take their children to school."

The PS said before the end of January 2024, every learner should be in school.

On marking, Belio said the ministry is adequately resourced to pay the professionals who have been handling the exams.

"We want to assure our examiners that this year, we shall be able to put out all payments that are due to them in good time," he said on November 1, 2023.

This year's exams attracted 1,4o6,557 million candidates.

The 2023 cohort was the last to sit the KCPE exams as the ministry works on phasing out the 8-4-4 curriculum.

Candidates, their parents, and guardians can access the results through the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, SMS platforms, county education offices and their respective schools.

For the SMS option, the candidates should send their index number, followed by the initials KCPE (in capital letters) to 40054 in order to access the results.
